Reawakening

As the United Kingdom comes out of lockdown, so the spring flowers push their way through the mulch and open up to the spring sunshine. Just as with Covid-19, there are setbacks, not from the discovery of new variants, but from the Easter frosts and the snow in May. Yet still the flowers bloom. Will we?

Behind the scenes

Here are a few images showing my set up for these photographs. Generally I was trying to get photographs which didn’t include paths, but protected the spring flowers. Some of the photos were taken straight from the pathways and some were taken by following tracks made by others before me. I managed to avoid trampling the bluebells.

To get the photographs focused on individual flowers, I had to get the camera low down to the ground. While this was tough on ageing knees, it was made much easier than it could have been as a result of the waist level finder!
